The England Netball Performance Pathway

In Sussex, we are very committed to nurturing talent. The purpose of the England Netball Performance Pathway is to provide performance-enhancing training for individuals. Competition is delivered outside of the academy programmes in clubs/schools leagues and tournaments. Academies will also provide an opportunity for players to be seen by the Super league franchise performances coaches, and potentially the opportunity to move up the England Netball player pathway ladder.  Sessions are led by UKCC qualified coaches that have experience of coaching talented players.

The Performance Pathway includes two programmes;-

U13 Satellite Academy x 2 this is the first entrance onto the Performance Pathway with a focus on individual development. Athletes will learn about training and basic technical and tactical skills. Athletes will attend 15 x 2 hour sessions across September to March.

U15 County Academy – Entry to the U15 academy is through either direct access at U15 level, or through progression from the Satellite academies. The focus shifts to working with other players however  the emphasis remains on training and skill development with competition being used to test and refine skills. Athletes in the county academy will attend 2 hour weekly training sessions between September and April (30 sessions total).

The progression from County Academy is through to the Superleague franchise performance hubs at u17, u19 and u21 level. Currently, Surrey Storm is the franchise that Sussex County is linked to.
