New Workshop for Coaches!
England Netball has developed a new series of workshops aimed at providing club coaches / teachers who are regularly planning sessions with a better understanding of a specific area of player and game development, the toolkit required to analyse and correct technique and fresh ideas for building practices and sessions.
On the Ball: Essential Ball Skills for Netball
This workshop focuses on catching and passing skills, observation and analysis of technique and practice design in relation to the development of ball skills.
By the end of the workshop a coach should be able to:

Identify practices to develop ball handling skills

Identify and describe correct passing and catching technique
-
Identify the difference between random, variable and blocked practices
-
Understand how different practice design influences player development
-
Define the decisions required by players when receiving and passing
-
Identify the physical impact of practices on players
-
Observe skills in action with the aim of detecting strengths and areas for improvement
Please note that this is a practical workshop and may require coaches to participate in some activities, it is therefore advisable to ensure appropriate clothing and footwear is worn.

Recruit Into Coaching
The Recruit into Coaching Programme provides the opportunity for local young people in 70 priority areas to receive the support and develop the skills and inspiration they need to step into coaching in their local communities. In return they will then assist in delivering netball for local young people.
One of the identified priority areas is Hastings and Sussex Netball is looking for young people aged 18-25 who would be interested in applying for a place on one of the courses. For more information visit the England Netball website
